Abraham Lincoln 200th Birthday Cake Contest
As a part of the bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the Asa Waters Mansion sponsored a cake contest on May 17, 2009. Imelä Confections won in the Professional Category with a bust of Abraham Lincoln (shown on the left).
The head is made out of rice krispie treats covered with modeling chocolate. The rest of the bust is made out of American Caramel Apple Pie Cake covered with fondant and decorated with fondant and modeling chocolate.
The cake was consumed shortly after the judging.
